Drove Aeropower Emerges From Stealth to Advance Next-Generation Defense Capabilities
New U.S. aerospace and defense technology company launches with a mission to strengthen American defense capability and the domestic industrial base.
ATLANTA, Oct. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Drove Aeropower today emerged from stealth as a new aerospace and defense technology company focused on developing mission-critical technologies for the United States and its allies.
Led by aerospace engineer and veteran entrepreneur Glenn Case, Drove was built around a straightforward belief: the technologies behind the next generation of American defense platforms should expand what is possible in the field, not constrain it.
As global threats evolve and the need for faster innovation across the defense industrial base accelerates, Drove is building technology to meet modern defense demands: performance, reliability, scalability, and the ability to produce critical systems here in the United States.
The company is developing its first platform and plans to share more details about its technology and development roadmap in the coming months.
“Drove was built to address capability gaps that directly impact defense readiness,” said Glenn Case, Founder and CEO of Drove Aeropower. “That means building technology that performs in demanding environments, can be produced at scale, and strengthens the industrial base behind it. We’ve spent the last year or so focused on the work. Now, we’re ready to begin showing what Drove is here to build.”
Case brings deep aerospace engineering and propulsion experience, including work with Blue Origin, NASA propulsion programs, and Air Force-aligned aerospace efforts. He was also a founding member of Hermeus, where he helped advance high-speed propulsion systems.
Drove is backed by Afterburner Capital Management and Rule 1 Ventures. Afterburner Capital founder and CEO James D. Murphy brings more than three decades of experience building and scaling companies, with a growing investment focus on defense technology. Rule 1 Ventures brings deep expertise in defense-focused investing, drawing on a network of military operators, Department of Defense advisors, and technical leaders to support early-stage companies developing practical, scalable technologies that address national security priorities.
“Innovation alone doesn’t create an advantage. Execution does,” said James D. Murphy, Founder and CEO of Afterburner Capital. “The United States needs companies capable of turning breakthrough ideas into real defense capability, faster, at scale, and here at home. That is what makes Drove compelling. It is being built to solve mission-critical problems with the speed, discipline, and focus this moment requires. And this is only the beginning.”
Drove emerges with backing from Afterburner Capital and Rule1 Ventures, bringing together capital, defense-sector experience, and operational expertise to support the company as it advances development, testing, and manufacturing readiness.
“Modern defense increasingly demands technologies that can move quickly from innovation to meaningful operational capability,” said Todd Ehrlich, General Partner of Rule1 Ventures. “Drove is bringing together the technical expertise, mission focus, and manufacturing mindset needed to address important challenges facing the defense industrial base.”
For Afterburner Capital, Drove reflects the firm’s broader defense technology thesis: backing companies developing mission-critical technologies that address meaningful operational and industrial-base constraints.
Drove is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
“We’ve been deliberate about how we’ve built Drove,” Case added. “Now, we’re ready to begin showing what comes next.”
